Physical Therapy Assistants Jobs

Physical therapy assistants are supervising by physical therapists, and have related job duties; however, the dissimilarity is the type of therapy a patient receives. Characteristic days may include electrical stimulation, massages, ultrasounds and a variety of exercises. Most physical therapy assistant’s jobs also require performing clerical duty such as ordering supplies, answering phones, and submitting insurance forms.

In order to meet the criteria for occupational therapy assistant jobs, you must receive training from a credited school and sit for the national certify exam. The official recognition Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) has 135 occupational therapy assistant programs national. The two year program includes occupational therapy course in mental health, adult physical disabilities, pediatrics, and gerontology. Sixteen weeks of manage field work is also required. PTA jobs require an associate's degree in most state. The American Physical Therapy Association's Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education is the accrediting body for the 223 physical therapy assistant programs. Just similar to the training for occupational therapy assistants, the PTA program is divided into academic courses and scientific experience. PTAs also receive CPR and other first aid certifications.
